Tim Nichols, Hydraquip President, announces end-of-the year retirement

Houston, Texas – On November 13, 2020, Tim Nichols publicly announced his plans to retire from his position as President of Hydraquip, Inc. at the end of the year 2020. With over 28 years of service within the company, Tim played a key role in Hydraquip’s growth and expansion over the years.

Tim began working for the company on February 3, 1992. After spending two years in outside sales, Tim was promoted to Regional Manager for North Texas. Tim was later selected to run the company’s Fluid Power division in 2007 and then run the Fluid Conveyance business in 2010. Tim became Hydraquip’s Vice-President of Sales in early 2013 before becoming the company’s President later that year. Tim also maintains a well-deserved reputation with the employees in the Employee Owned Holdings, Inc. (EOHI) family of companies as he was elected by those employees to represent them as the employee-elected director to the EOHI board for the last two years (2019-2020).

“Tim has made an incredible impact on our company and the people under his leadership. He has played an instrumental role in the phenomenal growth Hydraquip has experienced, and he has provided outstanding leadership and dedication,” said Richard Neels, President and CEO of EOHI, the parent company of Hydraquip.

“It has been my pride and privilege to have been associated with Hydraquip for over 28 years,” says Tim. “The people of Hydraquip have been an extended family for me. I am so grateful for the chance I have had to work with so many accomplished and amazing people, both within the company as well as with our vendors and customers.”

Scott Nelson, Senior Vice-President of Hydraquip, is set to replace Tim as President of Hydraquip beginning January 1, 2021. Scott Nelson has been with Hydraquip for over 25 years, having served in Inside Sales, as an Account Manager and Regional Sales Manager. Tim and Scott will work together with transitioning leadership responsibilities and ensure continuity of operations. Scott’s long-standing positive relationships with customers, vendor partners and employees position him well to successfully tackle this new responsibility.
