Hydraquip Distribution Inc. Announces ISO 9001-2008 Certification
Employee-owned fluid power equipment and products distributor completes important certification process and takes aim at new markets.
HOUSTON, TX – September 2011. Hydraquip Distribution, Inc., a subsidiary of Employee Owned Holdings, Inc. (EOHI), was recently registered to the ISO 9001-2008 quality standards for their Houston Corporate office. Hydraquip has offices located in Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Arizona.
During a company meeting, President Richard Neels recognized the Quality team’s work in achieving this important designation: “Our Quality team members, through their commitment and hard work, made the ISO 9001-2008 certification possible. The past six months were a definite challenge as we navigated the process, but the team really came together. The end result was this important certification, which is very compelling to our employee owned company. We are all very proud.”
Seeing an opportunity to increase visibility in the marketplace, Hydraquip recognized the need for this certification, which many organizations require of their vendors and partners. Thus, a goal was set, and the company went through the different phases and requirements needed to become ISO 9001-2008 certified. Loyd Hall, HSE, QA, Lean Initiative Manager of EOHI states: “with the ISO 9001-2008 certification, Hydraquip now has an additional competitive advantage in the marketplace. Furthermore, it enhances the company wide 6-S Lean initiative.”
A major part of the reasoning behind this decision is the opportunity to compete in new markets, which Neels explains: “The ISO 9001-2008 certification marks a new beginning at Hydraquip. It represents our focus on customer satisfaction and continuous improvements. Our company is already regarded as a preferred fluid power product distributor in the Oil & Gas and Industrial markets in Texas, Louisiana and Oklahoma, and this certification compliments our growing presence in the off-highway and marine markets.”
